Split Tech City, the thriving IT and entrepreneurial community in Split, organized a remarkable event – “Locals’n’Nomads” meetup – held at the vibrant Smartspace venue. This exciting gathering brought together digital nomads, internationals, and locals, creating a dynamic environment for networking and meaningful connections.

“Locals’n’Nomads” was more than just a meetup; it represented a unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in the #SplitTechCityLifestyle through a series of collaborative experiences. In this instance, Split Tech City partnered with the Student Business Incubator and STup! – an international student startup competition.

The event featured engaging presentations from experts in the startup world. Bartosz Weryho, a prominent figure in the startup ecosystem, delivered an inspiring lecture on scaling startup companies and exploring funding opportunities with a global perspective. The audience, comprised of young entrepreneurs and curious minds, actively participated in the session, asking intriguing questions and gaining valuable insights.

Following Bartosz’s talk, Andreas Spechtler, one of the STup! judges and speakers, as well as the founder and CEO of Silicon Castles, shared exciting news about Split’s startup ecosystem and highlighted the impact of Silicon Castles’ work. Several local startups, including AymoLive and Sailboat RC, were delighted to learn about the opportunities provided by Silicon Castles, and the winners of this year’s STup! competition can look forward to experiencing their remarkable program.

Throughout the evening, Smartspace Coworking proved to be the perfect host, providing a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that allowed attendees to connect freely. The venue’s owner, Fedja Mirsilić, ensured that everyone felt at ease, whether they chose to mingle in the workspace or enjoy conversations outdoors.

To add a touch of creativity, the organizers decided to surprise the guests with a liquid treat from the TapB craft brewery instead of a traditional birthday cake. The unconventional gesture added an extra element of fun to the gathering, making it an even more memorable experience.

As the event concluded, the attendees were already looking forward to the next edition of “Locals’n’Nomads.” Split Tech City, with the support of Smartspace coworking, remains committed to hosting inspiring events that foster community connections, knowledge sharing, and professional growth. We invite everyone to stay tuned for more exciting gatherings and enriching opportunities that await within our vibrant ecosystem.
