What is coworking?

Coworking is a style of work where individuals or small groups from different companies or professions share a common workspace, often fostering collaboration and networking. At Smartspace we’re proud to be one of the first coworking providers in Split.

Coworking spaces are typically open to freelancers, remote workers, startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses seeking an alternative to traditional offices.

What are the benefits of coworking?

Coworking offers benefits such as cost savings, access to amenities, networking opportunities, a flexible work environment, and a sense of community.

What's included in my membership?

Lots! At Smartspace, we want to make your experience as stress-free as possible with no surprise extras. Included: all building utilities (water, electricity, heating and air conditioning), reception and post handling, primary and backup Wi-Fi, guest services, tea and coffee, 24/7 security and digital access control. You will also have access to all communal kitchen areas, indoor and outdoor chill spaces, and access to booking meeting rooms.

How do I join coworking at Smartspace?

We offer flexible short-term and long-term coworking membership options. To sign up and book your coworking space, please visit our Cowork Booking page, or visit our location in person.

What are residential perks?

Residential status includes your logo on the doorplate, PIN code for 24/7 access, social media marketing, usage of e-scooters, and much more. Residential perks are only available to FLOATING and RESIDENT members.

Are there any private office options available?

For individuals or small teams who prefer a more secluded working environment Smartspace offers dedicated desks or private meeting rooms for hire. Also, our monthly members have an included number of hours of meeting space usage per month. If you would like to know more about our private space options, please visit our Meeting Rooms page.

What payment options are there?

We accept Visa and MasterCard bank cards and direct bank transfers via IBAN. If you need a corporate bill (R1), we can issue upon request. We do not accept payments in cash.

What is the code of conduct?

We are trying to maintain a friendly, creative, yet professional and productive environment, so behave like you would in a library. We welcome smart-casual dress code, personal hygiene and good manners. We do not tolerate junkies or drunks, and we reserve the right to fine or terminate our relationship as we see fit. Our staff has been trained in how to keep our spaces clean, safe and downscale any at-risk behaviours we see.

Can I bring my pet to the workspace?

Smartspace is a pet-friendly coworking space, while others may have specific policies regarding pets. However, we have to be mindful of all our members, so it’s always good to inquire beforehand.

Is your coworking space secure?

Smartspace coworking space has several security measures in place, such as PIN access, surveillance cameras, and secure Wi-Fi networks, to ensure the safety of our members and their belongings.

Can I use the coworking space for events?

Our expert team, unique design and modern facilities are on standby for you to dream up and deliver your next workshop, live event, or launch. At Smartspace, we understand that business, technology, design, and education events require a unique atmosphere that fosters collaboration, creativity, and innovation. That’s why we’ve created a space that is tailored specifically for these industries.

Can I sell or display my products or services?

We welcome all products and services in the area of technology, education and design. Any type of food, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical products are not permitted. Everything else is subject to discussion, as long as it’s legal and constructive.
